I just browsed through your mailto tutorial. But I am missing more depth: How do I change the message subject? I know it can be done, but how?

Good question! Although there is no formal way to do this, I played around with this tag and discovered a little hack that works in Netscape 3 for the Mac and IE 4 for the PC. To create a subject line in a mailto: tag, all you have to do is throw a ?subject= into your code. Your markup will end up looking something like this (we made the subject-line code bold for clarity):
